MoodKite Privacy Policy

MoodKite keeps everything you write on your own phone. We cannot see it. We have no server, no account system, and no way to identify you.

Nothing. MoodKite has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting. We do not collect your name, your email address, your location, your contacts, or any identifier for your phone. We never see a single word you write in the app.

Everything you record — your moods, emotions, what you noted might be connected, what you did, your written notes, and the times you recorded them — is saved on your own phone, inside MoodKite’s private storage that other apps cannot read. Your settings (language, light or dark appearance, reminder frequency) are stored the same way. This information is not sent anywhere. It does not travel to us, and it does not travel to anyone else.

It is also left out of your phone’s automatic backups on purpose. Android can copy an app’s data to your Google Drive, or move it across when you set up a new phone. MoodKite switches both off. Nothing you record is copied anywhere, by us or by your phone. The honest trade-off: if you change phone, or uninstall MoodKite, your entries are gone. There is no copy anywhere to restore from, because that is what "stays on your device" means. We would rather tell you that plainly than quietly keep a copy you did not ask for.

Any moment can be locked. Locking hides the details of that entry — the words you picked, what you noted alongside, and any note — until you unlock it. The mood itself stays visible, and the entry still counts on your week.

How unlocking works depends on your phone. If your phone has a screen lock, MoodKite asks the phone to check it — the same fingerprint, face, or PIN that unlocks the phone. That check is performed by the phone’s own operating system: MoodKite is told only whether it succeeded, and never receives, sees, or stores your fingerprint, your face data, or your phone’s PIN.

If your phone has no screen lock, MoodKite offers a PIN of its own instead, chosen in the app and stored only on your phone. If you choose not to set one, the app tells you plainly, at the moment you lock an entry, that it will have no way to ask for a code before showing that entry again.

If reminders are switched on, the phone schedules them locally. No reminder passes through any server, and no notification content leaves the device. Reminders can be turned off in Settings at any time.

MoodKite opens no network connections of its own. When a new version is available, the Google Play app on your phone tells MoodKite so and handles the download. That conversation happens between your phone and Google Play, under Google’s own privacy policy — nothing you recorded is any part of it.

We do not share your information, because we do not have it. There is nobody to share it with: no advertisers, no analytics companies, no researchers, no school, and no parent or guardian dashboard. MoodKite does not have one.

Individual entries can be deleted inside the app. Uninstalling MoodKite removes everything it has stored on the phone, every entry included. Because we never receive your information, there is nothing for you to ask us to delete, and no request you could send us that would reach any copy of it.

MoodKite is intended for people aged 13 and over. The app is designed so that no personal information is ever collected from anyone, of any age. It does not profile users, does not serve advertising, and does not use anything recorded in it to make judgements about the person who wrote it. MoodKite describes what you noticed. It does not diagnose, score, rank, or interpret, and it is not a medical device, a therapy service, or a substitute for talking to a professional.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes on the store listing.

Everything above is about the MoodKite app. This part is about moodkite.ee, which is a separate thing: the app talks to nobody, but a website has to be served by somebody.

If you send us a message from the contact page, we store the name, email address and message you typed, together with the time you ticked the consent box and a one-way hash of your IP address and browser user-agent string. The hashes let us show that consent was given and let us block automated abuse; they cannot be turned back into your IP address. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by writing to contact@delvaris.com.

We keep a message until your enquiry has been dealt with, and in any case no longer than 12 months, after which it is deleted.

We count how many times each page is opened, and nothing else. No cookie is set, nothing is stored on your device, and no identifier for you or for your browser is kept — so the counts cannot be joined back to a person or to a single visit.

This site sets no cookies at all. That is why it does not ask you about them.

The companies below host the site, hold its database and deliver the email a contact form generates. They act as processors on our instructions; the table shows the status of each one's data processing agreement. None of them receives anything from the app.

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our processing of it, ask us to restrict that processing, and ask to receive it in a portable form. In practice the only personal data we ever hold is a message you chose to send us. Write to contact@delvaris.com and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, aki.ee).
